amazing classical operatic performer.
Comfortable in church as in the club.
A quick study of all musical genres,
whose accomplishments in Soul,
is unrivaled, enduring, and everlasting.
The Queen of Soul has passed on.
Aretha gave us Respect, Natural Woman,
Rock Steady, and numerous classics.
A sure bet for the Nobel Prize in Music.
Alas, it is yet to be instituted.
Immortalized by the Rock and Roll
Hall of Fame, as first female inductee.
Recipient of the Medal of Freedom.
Recipient of twenty Grammy Awards.
An Asset and Ambassador of Detroit.
Gave her voice to the Civil Rights Movement.
Already making waves in the Heavenly choir,
Aretha Franklin, the definition of a Diva.
She sure had her fun, what with 20 Grammy Awards, induction to Rock n Roll Hall of Fame, Medal of Freedom what else would she have asked for?
Nobel Prize will be in another World for her as they don’t give it Post Mortem.
She sure had fun and will RIP.
