The $1 billion was approved at a National Economic Council meeting conveniently chaired by Vice President Professor Pastor Yemi Osinbajo. President Alhaji Muhammadu Buhari does not attend the meetings of the National Economic Council. Someone else approves the expenditure but he spends the money. How convenient? Did this Government not claim the defeat of Boko Haram as one of its main achievements? Is the $1 billion for a victory celebration?
General Abayomi Olonisakin, Nigeria’s Chief of Defense Staff remarked at a meeting of the “Global Coalition Working to Defeat ISIS” in Washington DC in March 2017, that $2.6 billion was spent on fighting Boko Haram in 2016. It would be gratifying to know the expenditure in 2017 prior to this approval. Apparently Nigeria does not want money resting in her Excess Crude Account where rats can eat them. Better humans than rats. Recall how rats drove the Nigerian President out of his office. After the expenditure of $2.6 billion in 2016, residents of IDP (Internally Displaced Persons) Camps look like skeletons while the Chibok girls released by Boko Haram resemble graduates of the Calabar pre-marital fattening schools.

Nigerians know a gravy train when they see one. Boko Haram members captured by the Nigerian Army are being tried in secret. This is an euphemistic way of saying; we are releasing them in secret so the fight can go on for another 100 years. There will always be a regular supply of suicide bombers to keep the terrorism alive. Killing infidels and going to heaven to enjoy your virgins is preferable to dying in the torrid Sahara Desert, killed by wicked Islamic Libyan slave traders, or drowning in the Mediterranean Sea and going to hell.
Paying Boko Haram, their regular ransom demands, will also keep the terrorists afloat to continue the fight. As the fight continues, more mansions are bought in Dubai by military top brass and “Panama” and “Paradise” accounts are overflowing with Nigerian deposits!
Why would the PDP Governors go along with this scheme? Gullibility is genetic in Nigerians and PDP Governors are Nigerians. Or the PDP Governors may have had their palms greased.
