2019 Nigerian Presidential Election: North May Defer To The South.
At a secret meeting of the Northern Arewa Group held on August 12, 2017, the North failed to agree on a consensus candidate for the 2019 Presidential Election. Present at the meeting were leading Northern Presidential Candidates viz, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, Mallam Nasr el-Rufai, Mr Yakubu Dogara, Alhaji Aminu Tambuwal, Dr. Bukola Saraki, Alhaji Rabiu Kwankwaso, and Emir Lamido Sanusi.
After a lengthy screening of the aspiring candidates by the newly appointed health coordinator for Nigeria, as decided by the Nigeria Governors’ Forum, NGF, Dr. Ahmad Abdulwahab, all the aspirants were disqualified for having clean medical records. Nigeria has 36 state health commissioners and one Federal Minister of Health. Since the country is being run by a Coordinating President, the wise governors felt a Coordinating Commissioner of Health would work best with a Coordinating President. The NGF has plans to appoint Coordinators for all the Ministries. One caveat, all must be APC (All Progressive Congress) members and preferably from the North, since President Muhammadu Buhari prefers to work with Hausa speakers.
As you may recall the current and last Nigerian Presidents of Northern descent have spent most of their tenure in foreign hospitals. The Arewa Group unanimously decided to continue to nominate sick Northerners as Presidential Candidates. They lamented the absence of Alhaji Maitama Sule who died recently. An astute politician, Alhaji Sule would have made an ideal candidate but unfortunately he died prior to 2019.
Consequently the Arewa Group tasked Dr. Ahmad Abdulwahab to scour the length and breadth of Northern Nigeria until a suitable sick prominent Northern politician is found. They also resolved to zone the next President to the South if no suitable sick Northern politician is found. The aspirants were not happy with the decision of the Arewa Panel On 2019 Presidential Election and most resolved to contract a serious illness before 2019.
Towards this, some of the candidates have been engaging in dangerous behavior including eating contaminated food, exposing themselves to toxic substances, and drinking non-potable water.
Africastallestman is watching the development with amusement because a sick President controlled by a cabal is not a President. He urges the Arewa Group to change its stance and nominate a healthy Northern politician for the 2019 Presidential Election.
