Awo wanted to create a modern Yoruba state by using the resources provided by Nigeria.

Zik cared about himself and wanted to be the ceremonial head of a huge country.

The result is the confused country of Nigeria torn apart by tribal loyalties, religious schisms, and foreign loyalties but temporarily held together by political leeches feeding on the blood of the country.
