Buhari removed Chief Justice Walter Onnoghen
just before the 2019 Nigerian elections.
Buhari replaced Onoghen with Alhaji Tanko Mohammed.
Alhaji Tanko, a Sharia Magistrate, who subsequently used Sharia technicalities to decide all post-election cases.

Result: Alhaji Major General Muhammadu Buhari was reerected.

Forward to 2026, and prior to the 2027 Nigerian elections, another Chief Justice of Nigeria, Alhaja Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, with a chequered past, acting at the behest of Tinubu, is probing senior judges to remove the one or two members of the Judisharing who are immune to corruption.
