NOISE POLLUTION

Religionists, not content with spiritual pollution of Nigeria, have resorted to noise pollution to win more converts.
Most churches, mosques, synagogues, temples, and soon shrines are adorned with super powered loudspeakers exhorting the faithful and the unfaithful to pray, repent, tithe or be condemned to eternal damnation.

What damnation is worse than noise pollution that jars your senses, irritates your brain, drowns conversation and makes sleep impossible, especially afternoon naps?
Add the bell ringing by Christian Churches and call to prayers by Muslims, the noisy cacophony becomes intolerable and disease-inducing.
Mental illnesses are exacerbated, headaches activated and every known illness is aggravated by noise.
The sanatoria of old, were built in peaceful and serene environments to aid healing.

Nigerian laws must be updated to criminalize noise pollution or everyone should install loudspeakers in their homes, offices, and shops to generate more noise.
The result is noise cancellation.
Wikipedia defines “noise cancellation or active noise control, or active noise reduction, as a method for reducing unwanted sound by the addition of a second sound specifically designed to cancel the first.”
