AFRICASTALLESTMAN SAVES THE INTERNET BY EXTINGUISHING A FIRE.

GOV. PETER OBI quotes that set the internet on fire…
AND THE FIRE WAS QUICKLY EXTINGUISHED TO SAVE THE INTERNET.
Quotes are in parentheses, responses in bold.

“As Governor, I left N75billion saved for my successor….” – Peter Obi.

A GOVERNMENT IS NOT A SAVINGS BANK. THE USA IS THE NUMBER ONE DEBTOR IN THE WORLD AND THE MOST PROSPEROUS COUNTRY IN THE WORLD.
BY NOT USING THE MONEY TO BETTER THE LIVES OF ANAMBRANIANS, YOU LEFT IT FOR YOUR HANDPICKED SUCCESSOR TO …….?

“To you young people, Take Back your Country…it is your future they are toying with”. – Peter Obi.

AGREED.

“I reduced my convoy to 5 vehicles and you cannot buy fuel unless I am in the car”.- Peter Obi.

ALL FIVE VEHICLES HAVE THE SAME TANK CAPACITIES AND PETER OBI IS IN ALL FIVE AT THE SAME TIME!
PETER OBI ALSO PUMPS GAS INTO THE CARS TO PREVENT BEING SWINDLED BY THE ATTENDANTS SAVING 20 NAIRA PER VEHICLE.

“If I sleep in a hotel and have to pay N250k a night, I will be awake all night…feeling like I was robbed”. – Peter Obi.

UNLESS PRESIDENT TRUMP IS SLEEPING NEXT DOOR AND YOU GET A CHANCE TO MEET HIM. ONE MILLION NAIRA MAY BE TOO LITTLE.
YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!

“You know there are many big men in Anambra state, so when they want to see me, I say to them I will come to you instead”.- Peter Obi.

AFTER GOING TO THEM, WHAT DO YOU GIVE THEM IN RETURN. NOTHING GOES FOR NOTHING!

“We handed schools back to Churches and by 2013, we were number one in WAEC.”- Peter Obi.

WHAT HAPPENS TO THOSE WHO CANNOT PAY THE HIGH PRIVATE SCHOOL FEES? DO YOU SUBSIDIZE THEM?
DO YOU HAVE A STUDY TO SUBSTANTIATE YOUR CLAIMS?

“I beg you to participate more in politics, the society we help them abuse today will take its revenge tomorrow”.- Peter Obi.

AGREED.

“The only way out of recession is to spend for growth. You can only spend for growth either from savings or from borrowing.
The question is: what are you borrowing for?
Are you borrowing for consumption or for production?
When you borrow for consumption, you are heading for disaster.”
— Peter Obi.

TRUE FOR GOVERNMENTS. GOVERNMENTS SHOULD NOT BORROW FOR RECURRENT EXPENDITURE OR CONSUMPTION.
BORROWING SHOULD BE FOR INFRASTRUCTURE, CAPITAL PROJECTS, AND JOINT VENTURES OR PRODUCTION.
PRODUCTION INCLUDES, AIDING LOCAL MANUFACTURERS AS DONE IN CHINA.
NOT TRUE FOR INDIVIDUALS. THE WORLD’S LARGEST ECONOMY, THE US IS FUELED BY CONSUMPTION. CHINA IS TRYING TO SPUR DOMESTIC CONSUMPTION AND REDUCE EXPORTS. THERE IS A LIMIT TO GROWTH FUELED MAINLY BY EXPORTS.
SAVINGS HAVE TO BE CONSUMED OR THERE IS NO GROWTH.
IF YOU SAVE TO BUILD A SHOE AND WATCH FACTORY AND SELL ONLY “TWO SHOES AND ONE WATCH,” YOU ARE HEADED INTO BANKRUPTCY.
SOMEONE HAS TO BUY THE PRODUCTS OF PRODUCTION. THE GOAL IS TO STRIKE A BALANCE.
YOU CANNOT GROW UNLESS YOU SELL. SELLING MEANS SOMEONE IS CONSUMING.

” I had to stop the Presidential lodge in Anambra… A project awarded at 400million. I had to close down state house in lagos and Abuja… Because I felt we don’t need it…. Even when other states had.” – Peter Obi.

AGREED.

“They said President Obasanjo is coming… I went to borrow the kind of cars they wanted… Instead of spending millions… From a neighbouring state.” – Peter Obi.

YOU BORROWED FROM A STUPID NEIGHBORING GOVERNOR. WHY NOT USE YOUR OWN CAR? BY BAD MOUTHING THE GOVERNOR, YOUR SUCCESSOR WILL NOT BE ABLE TO BORROW FROM THE SAME GOVERNOR.
THE US PRESIDENT FLIES HIS CARS TO HIS DESTINATION, OBASANJO CAN.

“I requested Obasanjo to spend the nights in my lodge Since they said he must sleep over… I asked my wife to pack out of my bedroom… We went opposite to lodge in a hotel (name mentioned) for the week, we paid N30,000 instead of N100,000.” – Peter Obi.

FIRST, THEY SAID, “KIND OF CARS,” AND NOW, THEY SAID, “HE MUST SLEEP OVER.”
WHY NOT TELL THEM TO GO TO HELL?
WHY NOT SLEEP ON A MATTRESS IN THE OZA ROOM TO SAVE MORE MONEY.
YOU JUST DENIED THE ANAMBRA HOTEL OWNERS OF INCOME.

“I used the 150million for 2 bullet proof cars to buy almost 50 Peugeot cars at 3 million each.. gave 17 to JUDGES and 18 to permanent Secretaries (because i discovered they did not have cars) and kept 10 for govt house… which I used as Governor… I did not use bullet proof cars as Governor.” – Peter Obi.

WHAT HAPPENED TO MONETIZING BENEFITS? WERE THESE INDUCEMENTS?
YOU DID NOT USE BULLET PROOF CARS BUT YOU USED POLICEMEN WITH BULLETS.
WHY NOT TRAVEL WITH JUST ONE CAR AND NOT FIVE TO SAVE MORE MONEY?

“They said we should attend world Igbo Congress in U. S…. That the budget WAS cut from 40 to 32million…. I asked them why… That only one person should go and come and tell us what was discussed.” – Peter Obi.

YOU SHOULD STOP LISTENING TO, “THEY SAID.” YOU ARE A GOVERNOR AND SHOULD BE SAYING, NOT LISTENING TO GOSSIP.
ATTENDING WORLD IGBO CONGRESS IS A USELESS EXERCISE.

“Instead of paying 30,000 for each security personnel (about 30) per night in Abuja, I told IG to give me Police whenever am in Abuja….I travel alone… People complained…. The 15 drivers lodged in Abuja state house…who come to airport to cause confusion, i asked them to go, kept only 3. The others to go back to Akwa or look for job… I asked the cook to go back to Akwa instead of giving him 30,000 per plate.” – Peter Obi.

THERE IS ALWAYS WASTE IN GOVERNMENT AND THAT WASTE GROWS THE ECONOMY. ARE THESE THUGS OR SECURITY PERSONNEL?
DID YOU PROVIDE ALTERNATE JOBS TO THE FURLOUGHED?
YOU SACKED YOUR ONE COOK AND YOUR WIFE DID ALL THE COOKING. UNBELIEVABLE!

“When Governors lodge and Govt house was burnt before I came… With budget of 400 million and 300 million, I repaired them for 42 million and 80 million, respectively. They wanted to impeach me that I did not spend by due process… Following the awarded Contracts and contractor…. I saw a table… That my predecessor used, they said its old… I asked them to renovate it… That all i needed was a table to write as Governor… ” – Peter Obi.

GREAT TO ADJUST THE CONTRACTS DOWNWARDS.
ACCOUNTING HAS DEPRECIATION FOR A REASON. OLD TABLES HAVE TO REPLACED SO THE TABLE MANUFACTURER CAN MAKE NEW TABLES.
BY MAKING NEW TABLES, THE BUSINESS GROWS, THE ECONOMY GROWS AND THE OWNER PROSPERS.

“So, so, so I was able to save money and made sure that ANAMBRA HAS THE BEST ROAD NETWORK THAN ANY OTHER STATE IN NIGERIA…..” – Peter Obi.

NGIGE STARTED THE ROAD REVOLUTION.
SUCCEEDING GOVERNORS HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO FOLLOW NGIGE’S FOOTSTEPS.
GOVERNMENT IS NOT A SAVING INSTITUTION.
WHY DIDN’T YOU SAVE YOUR SECURITY VOTE OR DID YOU SAVE IT AT NEXT, ABUJA OR RETURN IT TO ASO ROCK.

PETER OBI….WORDS ON MARBLE! ”

ONLY THE GULLIBLE WILL BE DECEIVED
– ONYE AGHOBURU KA AGBALU!

  1. WHAT HAPPENS TO THOSE WHO CANNOT PAY THE HIGH PRIVATE SCHOOL FEES? DO YOU SUBSIDIZE THEM?

I do not think they are paying high private schools rate as the government still gives budgetted monies meant for these Schools to the managing churches. That way the fees are still subsidized, the government teachers are still employed, but the management of the schools and required discipline are instilled by the churches. Ala DMGS/CKC of the old

    1. Great to subsidize the parochial (private) schools but mixing church and state is dangerous.
Are tuitions at parochial schools pegged to family income?
Are the parochial schools open to all faiths since they receive public money?
Are students forced to convert to the faith of the school, they are attending?
Will fringe churches float schools to receive government subsidy?
Chinese and Singaporean students that excel at international school competitions are not from parochial schools. Singaporean parents send their children to after school lessons.
What of floating Government Schools to compete with the parochial schools?
My Nigerian friends inform that the Old Government Colleges at Umuahia and elsewhere were as high performing as CKC/DMGS of old.

      1. I jnderstand that they are not private schools as you have termed them but government schools managed by the churches. It has been proven through painful experience that government cannot manage these schools and should not have had any business taking them in the first place from the missions.
I do not think tuitions are pegged to family income. How could that work? Every parent submit their tax returns to prove income?
They are still open to all faiths.
Like in the Government College Umuahia of the old, the students are not forced to convert to any faith.
As the fringe churches did not have schools taken over by the government they do not qualify for such subsidies. However, I think that there should be a holistic application of the idea of quality education subsidized by government.
The Singaporeans have their way. The Nigerian way has always been different.
The present Nigerian governments, state and federal, cannot run or maintain anything, including a chicken coop. Let us accept that fact. The days when the government ran things efficiently are long past. This is our present reality.
Now this your Nigerian friend is telling you that the present government as setup cannot run a school that would favorably compete with private (parochial) schools.

        1. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.vanguardngr.com/2011/11/obi-hands-over-1040-schools-to-original-owners/amp/

From the above link, the Anambra Government continues to pay teachers and ancillary staff in the affected schools. This is a recipe for conflict of interests and intentions

After the 6 billion Naira “management fee” is exhausted, are there budgetary plans or statutory requirements to continue this joint venture?

Your comparison to Government Colleges of old is inappropriate. Government colleges are not parochial schools.

Practice differs from intentions. Part of the “high morality” included religious instructions and it will be reintroduced by the churches. Some students will change denominations to belong. Their parents will be enraged.

I put morality in quotes because most of the current political and business thieves in Nigeria attended parochial schools.

To do your Nigerian thing and expect Singaporean results is madness.

Church must be separated from state. The inclusion of Sharia into the Nigerian Constitution is wrong. Singapore does not have Sharia in its constitution despite having Muslims in its population.

The Government Schools of old were at par, or better academically, than the parochial schools.

Let’s keep the private schools separate from the public schools. This will create a healthy competition.

There are other ways of determining income/wealth without tax returns.
No millionaire is a truck pusher anywhere in the world.

  2. Now this one is hot, it got me thinking of the other side of story. I say …let others blow your trumpet man, the city is always watching, finally we know who does what.
