TIME TO JETTISON ASO EBI (UNIFORMS) FOR COLORS OF THE DAY.

Africans love uniformity in everything.
Uniformity in evil, frivolity, and ostentation.
Dictatorship in Equatorial Guinea,
Means dictatorship in Eritrea and Egypt.
Terrorism in Niger and Nigeria,
Means terrorism in Cameroon and Chad.
Dressing at events is no exception.

Africans especially Nigerians,
Love to wear uniforms – aso ebi,
At weddings, funerals, and parties.
Uniforms that are discarded after the events.
Taboo to wear same uniform, after designated event.
What is wrong with Africans?
What a waste of precious resources!

Wouldn’t colors of the day suffice?
Africans known to go into debt,
To belong to the aso ebi crowd.
Most, too proud to admit poverty.
Colors of the day, is preferable,
Releasing creativity in clothing and accessorization.
Preserving a scant African resource – money.

Africans, please jettison your aso ebi,
For colors of the day and innovative dressing.
If you must insist on uniformity,
Then copy Singapore, Botswana, and Norway.
Extend uniforms to uniformity in governance.
How nice would it be for all African Nations,
To emulate Singapore, Botswana, and Norway.

  1. Africa my continent, Nigeria my Country. Staying on the ledge, peeping and copying good and bad but mostly the bad ones. Having an epic and colossal fall but with no lessons learnt. Are we all involved? Probably a yes.
