EDUCATION IS NOT A SOLUTION TO NIGERIA’S PROBLEM, RESTRUCTURING IS
You cannot build a house on quicksand. Sooner than later, the house will sink into the quicksand leaving no evidence that a house once stood on that location. Educating a Nigerian is akin to building on quicksand. All that education disappears when confronted with the Nigerian reality.
Dike Chukwumerije** is an idealist and pseudo-analyst who has not bothered to study the foundations laid by Lee Kuan Yew in Singapore but would readily compare Nigeria to Singapore. Listening to the utterances of “educated” Nigerians such as Alhaji Professor Ango Abdullahi, an ex-Vice Chancellor of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, turns Dike’s logic on its head. Why is this “highly educated” professor, a primordial tribalist and religionist? If you are an Igbo and being pursued by an Almajiri mob in Zaria, intent on beheading you, do not run into Alhaji Ango Abdullahi’s house for safety. You might as well beg your pursuers for mercy or convert to Islam on the spot.
Alhaji Professor Ango Abdullahi, the vuvuzela Chairman of the Northern Elders Forum, NEF, supported the quit notice given to the Igbos in Northern Nigeria for the following reasons:
1. ‘‘I am particularly worried that notable political leaders in the South-East like Dr. Alex Ekwueme, Emeka Anyaoku, Jim Nwobodo and Mbazulike Amaechi, among others failed to speak out when the ovation was highest, but kept mute while the new Biafra agitation spread like wildfire and raged on.”
2. “Buhari chose late Chuba Okadigbo and Umezeoke as running mates until they met a brick wall before we switched to South-West.”
A supposedly “educated” ex-Vice Chancellor of a University is interested in grabbing power for his Fulani tribe by aligning with one tribe to oppress the other tribes. If the Yorubas refuse, Alhaji Professor Ango Abdullahi will switch to the Ijaws, falling which, the Tivs are next. What arrant nonsense! Alhaji Abdullahi fraudulently forgot to mention that Alhaji Muhammadu Buhari also failed to win the Presidency when he paired with the Yoruba Muslim turned Christian, Pastor Tunde Bakare. Why did the vuvuzela Professor not excoriate the Yorubas? No, he won’t because the Yorubas have been conquered religiously by the Islamic Fulani.
Africastallestman is still waiting for Alhaji Professor Ango Abdullahi to condemn the hatist, Islamic, and Fulanistic policies of the Buhari Administration in excluding Igbos from his government. Alhaji, you have been killing Igbos since 1945 and continuing. Buhari has applied laws retroactively to kill Igbos. The Singaporean Constitution expressly prohibits retroactive application of laws.
Igbos vote on principles and not personalities. One would have expected the “professor” to commend the Igbos instead of threatening them with death. The performance of Buhari during his first stint in office (1983 to 1985) and current stint (2015 to?) confirmed that Igbos were right in rejecting him and will reject him yet again. There is life after Buhari.
How did someone like Ango Abdullahi ascend the pinnacle of Nigerian education? If education is the solution, how can you explain the emergence of Ango Abdullahi? In a system with solid foundation, Professor Ango Abdullahi would be a lecturer in a Montechnic.
The Nigerian Foundation (Constitution) promotes:
1. Islam over all other religions.
2. Quota system over a merit-based system.
3. Feudalism over democracy.
4. Violence against the Igbos and Christians.
5. Incompetence and rewards ineptitude.
6. Sharing of the Commonwealth to a few sycophants, relatives, and concubines.
7. Lawlessness and impunity.
8. Religious and tribal intolerance.
9. Restrictions on Movement of People and Goods.
10. Opaque accounting over transparent accounting.
Nigerians go to school to claim their own share (quota) of the National Cake or to make themselves employable. They just memorize and regurgitate materials. Most Nigerian students do not explore beyond what is taught in the classrooms. Once they acquire that piece of paper qualification, they will demand their own quota as enshrined in the mediocre Nigerian Constitution.
A lecturer in one part of Nigeria is the equivalent of a professor in another part of country. A Nursing Sister or Nursing Brother in one part of Nigeria is the equivalent of a Chief Medical Consultant in another part of the country through the quota and zoning system.
Until Nigeria changes its foundation (Constitution) and removes Sharia, Islam, Quota, Zoning, and Federal Character and enthrones Minority Rights, Freedom of Movement, Freedom of Religion, Rule of Law, Equity, Justice, Fairness, and Meritocracy; every Nigerian acquiring a Ph.D. will not move the Nigerian State one millimeter forward instead, it will move the country five millimeters backwards. Nigeria should start building on a rock solid foundation instead of quicksand.

Africastllestman believes that Nigeria needs restructuring before education.
