LAUGHABLE, IN EDO STATE, NIGERIA, COWS ARE MORE VALUABLE THAN HUMANS

The Edo State Government Wednesday announced the immediate ban on the use of all premises of public schools, roads and other public places for social events.
The ban was contained in a press statement signed by the Commissioner for Communication and Orientation, Hon. Paul Ohonbamu.
The government explained that it frowns at the behavior, would not accept the practice in a civilized society as ours, and would therefore not condone it forthwith.
The statement said: “By our ancestry as Edo people, we have always shown the example of public order and decency which others have emulated over the years and this administration is determined to make Edo a model of magnificence and beauty once again.”
The statement warned, “Henceforth, any violation of this decision of government will be dealt with in accordance with extant laws” and urged all agencies of government to enforce compliance (The Nation Nigeria).

Cows using school facilities in Edo State.

COMMENTARY:

Recently cows invaded Edo State schools and Governor Obaseki kept mum. Apparently, the governor prefers cows using Edo schools for learning, than humans using public schools for social activities. Schools are public buildings that serve public function. America uses public schools as polling stations during elections.

Cows deface schools with cow dung whereas, humans using public schools for social activities is rewarding to the schools and society. If Governor Obaseki is serious, he should build multipurpose halls in every ward in Edo State. He is cozying up to the APC Federal Government that keeps mum when citizens and towns are annihilated by Fulani cow herders over the death of one errant cow.

Africastallestman believes that people are more valuable to society than cows. Eighty percent of Indians do not eat cows. India is a dominant force in technology and education, and it is challenging western countries for world dominance.

To the good people of Edo state, your Governor values cows more than humans! The world is waiting for your Governor to condemn the use of school buildings for social activities by cows. Wondas Neba Cease.
