International Thief Thief!

Fela Anikulapo Kuti, the Afrobeat inventor, coined that term to describe the disastrous telephone contract awarded to Chief Moshood Abiola and his company, ITT ( International Telephone & Telegraph, Nigeria Limited). The over one-billion-dollar contract awarded to Chief Abiola and his company resulted in the retrodevelopment of Telecommunications in Nigeria. Landlines that were operational in the 1960’s and 1970’s became extinct after modernization by Abiola in the 1980’s. As a reward for damaging Nigeria’s Telecommunications infrastructure, the country elected him President in 1993 to damage the whole country. General Ibrahim Babangida did the country a favor by annulling the election.

Major General Muhammadu Buhari disrupted the Nigerian Economy in 1983 and he has been rewarded with a reelection to the same position in 2015. He has disrupted the economy once again. If he could not manage a country in 1983, when he was “young,” how can he perform better 32 years later? Any questions? Next, it will be General Yakubu Gowon’s turn. An incompetent nation deserves incompetent leadership. I urge all young Nigerians to listen to the lyrics of Nigerian music for educational purposes.
