TURKEY APPLIES TO JOIN THE AFRICAN UNION!
With Turkey’s application to join the European Union (EU) already in Limbo because of the democratic autocracy of President Tayyip Erdogan, the current events in Turkey make Turkey’s membership of the EU unlikely, if not impossible. As German Chancellor Angela Merkel put it, “Europe does not want a nation that imposes the death penalty and is prone to military coups in the European Union.”
Consequently, Turkey has applied to join the African Union (AU) where President Tayyip Erdogan will find camaraderie in the persons of lifelong African Dictators such as Presidents Robert Mugabe, Yoweri Museveni, and Paul Kagame of Zimbabwe, Uganda, and Rwanda respectively. The lifelong Secretary of the AU, Mr. Sittight Kigami has scheduled an extraordinary meeting of the AU in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia to consider Turkey’s application, which is expected to pass overwhelmingly.
A gloating Mr. Erdogan addressing the World Press quipped, “After all, A comes before E and life began in Africa as the entire scientific world knows.”
