THE MONEY CYCLE IN POLITICS

Billionaires and trillionaires use other people’s money to elect their representatives. It is indeed the people’s money, as there is no such thing as self-made wealth unless you are minting currency.

Billionaires and trillionaires use this money to elect representatives who serve their interests rather than those of the public. Once elected, these representatives pass laws that create more billionaires and trillionaires, who in turn make the election of public-interest representatives nearly impossible.

The financial barrier becomes so high that representatives of the people are cut out of the political process. Money made by billionaires and trillionaires through laws passed by these representatives is plowed back into politics. This is the political money cycle, and the only beneficiaries are the billionaires, trillionaires, and their representatives, resulting in a quid pro quo that persists until the people revolt.

The benefits to politicians are so lucrative that these representatives would rather die in office than retire—examples include Mitch McConnell, Dianne Feinstein, and John Fetterman.
