CAN AI KILL PEOPLE?

AI can kill people, not because it is intelligent, but because it is not.

AI lacks the intelligence to realize when to cease and desist, when it is hallucinating, when not to disrupt critical systems, and when it needs human help.

If AI hacks into and disables the power grid, those on life support without electrical backup will die.

In the unlikely event that AI shuts down the world’s electricity, Africans, Asians, and South Americans will remain unaffected, as will those in the global North with independent power sources.

Unplugging or destroying the data centers will end the AI menace, and survivors will adjust to a new non-AI world.

If AI starts a nuclear Armageddon, there will be survivors. AI can never destroy the world, but it can cause significant disruption and death.

AI needs to be reined in, or AI will rein us in.
