GASOLINE AND DIESEL: WHY DOES MALAYSIA SUBSIDIZE BOTH AND NIGERIA DOES NOT?

GASOLINE AND DIESEL: WHY DOES MALAYSIA SUBSIDIZE BOTH AND NIGERIA DOES NOT?

Malaysia produces less crude oil and natural gas than Nigeria.
Malaysia subsidizes gasoline, diesel, cooking oil, rice, sugar, flour, chicken, and eggs.
Electricity and liquefied natural gas are heavily subsidized.
Healthcare and education are heavily subsidized.

Malaysia has 36.5 million citizens while Nigeria has 242.2 million citizens.
Malaysia exports 660,000 barrels of crude oil daily while Nigeria’s export is inching towards 2 million barrels daily.

Adjusting for the population differences, Nigeria ought to subsidize something.

Yes, Nigeria borrows trillions of Naira in addition to removing fuel subsidies, but subsidizes nothing useful to Nigerians.

Nigeria subsidizes corruption, which benefits “Polithiefians,” their families, and their cronies.

Disregard the claim of the World Bank and other financial “Ikpulities” ordering Nigeria not to subsidize anything.

Why has the World Bank not ordered Malaysia to end subsidies?

The claim of the World Bank dictating the economic policies of a country with some of the best economists in the world is a ruse.

Tinubu, if you won’t use the withdrawn fuel subsidies to subsidize Nigerian lives,

Please share the damn money with Nigerians all year round and not during elections.

The GNP per capita for Malaysia is $11,650 compared to Nigeria at $1,700, which is 7 times that of Nigeria.

Despite all the subsidies and adjusting for population and oil production, Malaysia still beats Nigeria in GNP per capita.

Every country in the world subsidizes something. Nigerians must demand that their government subsidizes something.
