When the Army arrests a non-polithiefiian for a civil offense in Nigeria, it is policing.

When the Army arrests a polithiefian for a civil offense in Nigeria, it is a coup.

Nigerian polithiefians, either clarify the role of the military in arresting non-military Nigerians for civil offenses, or give the Army the authority to arrest any non-military Nigerian for civil offenses.

Nigerian polithiefians frown at the police arresting military personnel, but in the USA, with presumably the world’s strongest military, a county sheriff or police officer can arrest military personnel. However, military personnel cannot arrest a civilian unless the civilian is trespassing on military property.

The civilian is subsequently handed over to civilian authorities.

In Nigeria, the military detains, flogs, frog-jumps, and jails civilians in military barracks until there is a public outcry.
