These are the new rules for broadcasters in Nigeria according to the NBC:
🚫Repeat Tinubu’s campaign promises in 2023—Heavy fine or shutdown.
🚫Invite a political opponent of Tinubu to a program—6-month suspension of broadcasting license.
🚫Mention Obi, Atiku, Amechi, Kwankwaso more than once a day—10,000,000 Naira fine.
🚫Play a tape of Tinubu’s 2023 campaign—One-year ban.
🚫Criticize Tinubu’s policies or illegal contract awards—4-year ban.
🚫Mention kidnapping, hunger, terrorism in any broadcast—Serious Constitutional violation punishable by a 1-year imprisonment for program participants and loss of broadcasting license.
✅️Endorse Tinubu and APC—Alliance of Present Criminals —Broadcasting license waived for life.
✅️Urge Nigerians to give Tinubu a second chance—Broadcaster of the year.
✅️Dismiss the opposition as pretenders that will ruin Nigeria—Broadcaster of the year nomination.
✅️Dismiss the drug charges against Tinubu as fake—Broadcaster of the year nomination.
✅️Tout a cup of rice as the panacea to Nigeria’s hunger problem—Broadcaster of the year nomination.
✅️Affirm that Mr. Joash Amupitan is not the same as INEC (Independent National Election Commission) Chairman who proudly supported Tinubu in 2023——Broadcaster of the year nomination.
