Organized by absentee organizers
Organizers, more intent on self aggrandizement
Than on showcasing their culture

Organizers whose names were on:
Table covers
Spoons
Forks, and
Toothpicks

Organizers who changed jingles to add
Fake degrees
Fake titles,
And other Ikpulities but
Were absent at the Carnival

The Carnival was a caricature
A caricature of a motley group
Dancing around trees
In a courtyard and not
In a field or square

The performers were also
The audience at the sparsely
Attended event that was billed
As a cultural showpiece but
Became a cultural disgrace

A disgrace to the Organizers
And the Community they represent
That is if they represented anyone but themselves as
The Carnival was an exercise in
“Ludicrity” and display of ineptitude.
