AFRICASTALLESTMAN INTERVIEWS PRESIDENT RODRIGO DUTERTE OF THE PHILIPPINES
AFRICASTALLESTMAN:
Magadang Hapon (Good Afternoon).
PRESIDENT DUTERTE:
Magadang Hapon. An African speaking Filipino?
AFRICASTALLESTMAN:
Not really, Mr. President, I just learnt that for this interview. I was not sure about this interview after you insulted the Chief Prosecutor of the ICC, calling her, “That Black Woman.”
PRESIDENT DUTERTE:
That comment was for my constituents, not for World consumption.
AFRICASTALLESTMAN:
Mr. President, my main reason for this interview is to learn something about your drug war. The drug problem is becoming a world-wide epidemic.
PRESIDENT DUTERTE:
Thanks Mr. Tall African. I thought that your name was just a gimmick, but you are taller than most Filipinos. Did you grow up in Africa or elsewhere? Africans are short because of hunger and malaria.
AFRICASTALLESTMAN:
I appreciate your compliments, President Duterte. My name is Africastallestman and not Mr. Tall African. I have taller relatives who have never left Africa. Why are most Filipinos short?
PRESIDENT DUTERTE:
Hey, whatever your name is, just go on with the interview.
AFRICASTALLESTMAN:
How many drug users and pushers have you killed so far?
PRESIDENT DUTERTE:
Personally, a few but about 20,000 so far, not counting those to be killed today. Philippines has a population of 107 million and two percent are thought to be drug users or pushers. Out of this 2 million, I have killed only 20,000, which is just 0.01 percent of the number to be killed.
AFRICASTALLESTMAN:
Why did you decide on killing without drug testing or trials as the most effective method of ridding the Philippines of drugs? Have you tried economic empowerment and employment?
PRESIDENT DUTERTE:
US President Nixon declared a “War on Drugs” in June 1971 stating that drug abuse was “public enemy number one.” In 2018, more Americans are dying of drug abuse than in 1971. If Nixon had killed all those drug abusers, they would not have brought forth more drug abusers into the world.
America has an unemployment rate of less than 4 percent and drugs are still killing Americans.
AFRICASTALLESTMAN:
Do you think that drug use is inherited?
PRESIDENT DUTERTE:
Of course, it is. How do you account for the problem increasing despite the various wars on drugs? Therefore, I decided to use a new approach, “Death on Drugs” or “Death on Drug Abusers.”
A fraction of the money spent by the US Government on useless treatments, imprisonment, and education could have been used to kill all American drug users in the 70’s. There would be no drug problem in America today.
AFRICASTALLESTMAN:
Is your method working?
PRESIDENT DUTERTE:
Yes, it is. Dead people do not use drugs.
AFRICASTALLESTMAN:
A report by Reuters suggested otherwise. Price of shabu (crystal methamphetamine) has decreased indicating more supply, crime is up and Human Rights Officials are appalled, disgusted, and are investigating you and your officials.
PRESIDENT DUTERTE:
By Human Rights Officials, do you mean the “malnourished one” and “That Black Woman.”
AFRICASTALLESTMAN:
Yes, why would you insult UN and ICC officials? Do you remember what they did to Slobodan Milošević, Slobodan Praljak, Milan Babić, Radovan Karadžić and the rest of the Serb, Kosovan, Croat, and Albanian war criminals?
PRESIDENT DUTERTE:
Let me reiterate, Philippines is my country and I kill Filipinos. Those bastards killed other Nationals out of hate, not drug use. Why pick on the Philippines, US President Trump recently called for the death sentence for drug abuse?
AFRICASTALLESTMAN:
Can you tell that someone is a drug abuser by looking at that person? Why not test people for drugs before publicly executing them? This method appears barbaric, extrajudicial, and prone to abuse and vendetta use.
PRESIDENT DUTERTE:
Africastallestman, you must be joking. What would an adult be doing with white powder or white crystals in the middle of the day?
AFRICASTALLESTMAN:
How do you explain the killing of an 18-year old boy who was sent to buy powdered sugar for mum to make Kulinarya-Polvorn (pastry)?
PRESIDENT DUTERTE:
Are you sure that you have not lived in the Philippines to know so much Filipino?
AFRICASTALLESTMAN:
Why would you not insult China, that is fishing in Filipino waters and claiming your island?
PRESIDENT DUTERTE:
China has a Navy. The UN and ICC has no Army, Navy, or Air force. How are they going to get me? Omar al-Bashir of Sudan is still walking free. If they get me, I will claim insanity. Remember that Zeid Ra’ad al-Hussein, the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, said that I need some “sort of psychiatric evaluation.” He is helping build my defense. What happened to Charles Taylor and the Serbs, Kosovans, Croats, and Albanians will never happen to me.
The days of Spain, the US, and Japan dictating to the Philippines are gone.
AFRICASTALLESTMAN:
But China is dictating to you? Would you submit yourself and your family to drug testing? People have suggested that your actions and that of your son, Paolo Duterte could be attributed to drug use. Why not clear the air by undergoing a public drug test? As shown by the experience with homophobia, ardent homophobists are also homosexuals.
PRESIDENT DUTERTE:
China is different, we are quarreling over an island in the ocean. No Chinese has landed on Luzon, Mindanao or Visayas.
I will protect any policeman who kills my son if his involvement in drugs is proven.
I recently declared my support for same sex marriages, so I am not homophobic.
AFRICASTALLESTMAN:
Why investigate your son before killing him, a courtesy that you have not extended to the 20,000 killed so far?
But you flip flopped on the LGBTQ issue, you were against same sex marriages or unions. Is your recent change of mind not an effort to out LGBTQ people, and who knows what you will do to them?
PRESIDENT DUTERTE:
Presidents do not need to do drug tests. Presidents own their countries and are the law. Presidents can pardon themselves of any crime as President Trump of the USA is about to pardon himself of collusion with the Russians during the 2016 Presidential Election.
Africastallestman, you have a wild imagination. I love the LGBTQ community.
AFRICASTALLESTMAN:
“That African Woman” will surely haul you before the ICC. Start preparing your defense because insanity will not cut it. If you are insane, you should have killed your son.
PRESIDENT DUTERTE:
Africastallestman, this is turning into an insult session. I am ending this interview.
AFRICASTALLESTMAN:
Thank you for your time, Mr. President.
PRESIDENT DUTERTE:
F… you, Africastallestman.
