TURF WAR BETWEEN AFRICAN DOCTORS AND PASTORS
Doctor: ” Why are pastors now claiming to be doctors and healing all types of maladies.?
Pastor: “Why are doctors now claiming to be pastors and performing all sorts of miracles?”
Doctor: ” We treat the patient and you pray for the patient to heal.”
Pastor: “True, but you are now treating and praying for the patient. Since doctors have combined doctoring with pastoring, we have noticed a sharp drop in our revenues. In retaliation, we started doctoring to increase our revenues.
Doctor: “We noticed that patients were tithing our fees to pastors, so we decided to become pastors. Pastors were claiming to cure patients that we have already cured! In retaliation, we started pastoring to capture all the revenues due us.”
Pastor: “I guess that we are even. We are both capturing some of each other’s revenues.”
Doctor: “You are right, we are even.”
Our idiotic public is to blame, not doctors and doctors (mere opportunists they are).
Recently someone posted an article on Facebook about a baby girl born blind. After three years of blindness, a doctor operated on her and she “saw her mother for the first time.” Comments that greeted the news were ALL about how god had done wonders: not one word about the doctor who did it. Their god stayed mute and impotent, only to take credit for a “miracle.” Religion is indeed the opium of the masses!
