THE JUDICIARY SHOULD PERFORM ITS ROLE AS AN IMPARTIAL REFEREE.
The Nigerian Government consistently refuses to obey court orders it deems unfavorable. This worrisome trend was the law of the land during the Obasanjo regime. The Buhari administration has continued the trend with its refusal to obey court orders ordering the unconditional release of Nnamdi Kanu. The same government went to court to seek an injunction to stop a planned work stoppage by Nigerian workers. Henceforth, the Chief Justice of the Federation and the various Chief Judges of the States should instruct judges under their domain not to entertain any legal action brought by any government that has disregarded any prior court orders. This will mark the beginning of real democracy in Nigeria.
