SOLVING INDONESIA’S DRUG PROBLEM
Indonesia has a big drug problem. As everybody knows demand for drugs drives drug supply. Many Indonesians use drugs to escape the harsh realities of life in Indonesia. Eliminating demand for drugs is the surest way to stamp out Indonesia’s drug problem. To achieve this, every Indonesian including President Joko Widodo should undergo random drug testing and anyone testing positive for drugs should be executed by firing squad. Executing foreigners found guilty by the Indonesian Criminal Injustice System, which Amnesty International has roundly condemned as flawed, brutal, inhuman, and barbaric should be condemned. I wonder why the so-called “civilized world” has not totally isolated this barbaric nation.
The problem I see with this policy of testing and execution is that Indonesia may have to import executioners because it is rumored that Indonesian executioners take illicit substances to carry out their gruesome task. After the entire drug users are executed, then cigarette smokers should be next. According to the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention), “Smoking kills more people than alcohol, AIDS, car accidents, illegal drugs, murders, and suicides combined, with thousands more dying from spit tobacco use.
