DIVIDENDS OF DEMOCRACY—NONSENSE!
The parroted phrase—”dividends of democracy”—must be rooted out of the English lexicon and replaced with “dividends of governance.”
Electricity is not a dividend of democracy; it is a dividend of governance.
Erasing poverty is not a dividend of democracy; it is a dividend of governance.
Providing full employment is not a dividend of democracy; it is a dividend of governance.
Providing affordable education is not a dividend of democracy; it is a dividend of governance.
Providing healthcare is not a dividend of democracy; it is a dividend of governance.
Providing… is not a dividend of democracy; it is a dividend of governance.
Do you prefer a democratic government with a Gini Coefficient of 1 or any type of governance with a Gini Coefficient of 0?
Despite its autocratic, high-handed, and sometimes brutal justice, China has performed better than all democracies in lifting its population out of poverty.
