SHARIA AND THE FATHERLESS CHILDREN PROBLEM IN NORTHERN NIGERIA
When an 80-year old man
marries a 9-year old child?
The results are predictable.
What happens when
the 80-year old man dies?
A death that is expected
as 80-year-old males
are a rarity in Sharia countries.
The results are predictable.
The children of these Sharia marriages
become fatherless as children.
Their child-mothers are incapable of
nurturing themselves and add the
burden of nurturing children.
The results are predictable.
The male children become Almajiris.
Without a permanent abode,
Almajiris roam the streets, begging, fighting,
and engaging in criminal actvities.
Polithiefians needing thugs readily
hire them for their nefarious activities by
offering Almajiris morsels of food.
The female children become Almajaras
Without a permanent abode,
Almajaras, become victims of sexual violence,
human trafficking, and in turn became
mothers to Almajiris and Almajaras.
Fatherless, hungry children are easy
targets for exploitation, sexual violence,
abuse, and human trafficking.
All these Ikpulities are sanctioned by
religious doctrines under Sharia.
The results are predictable.
The vicious cycle continues until
it overwhelms Sharia societies and
spills into non-Sharia societies leading
to confrontations, conflicts, and societal unrest.
Countries practicing these Ikpulities are
incapable of achieving any developmental goal.
How long can this problem be
allowed to fester without
unravelling the moral, social,
political, and developmental
aspirations of any country?
How can any sane country
practice child marriages under
the guise of Religion and expect progress?
