NIGERIA IS NEITHER AN ISLAMIC NOR A CHRISTIAN NATION

The jostling for preeminence and positions in Nigeria by Christians and Muslims may confuse an observer into believing that Nigeria is a bi-religious society.
Contrarily, every known religion in the world is represented in Nigeria.

Nigerians have exploited the God-Religion-Politics-Money nexus to the fullest. Religion in Nigeria is probably the fastest way to riches through tithing or using influence over adherents to win political office.

Nigerian Politicians earn the highest salaries and allowances in the world.
Despite these outlandish and scandalous remuneration, they still expect to be bribed to approve budgets. Once budgets are approved, they execute the contract through proxy companies.

When Christians and Islamists fight over governance and looting of the economy, do they think about the welfare of Traditional Religionists, Jews, Hindus, Buddhists, Rosicrucians, Baha’is, Atheists, Agnostics, etc that inhabit the same space named Nigeria?

An elegant solution will be to divide Nigeria into Religious States where one Religion predominates, Theocratic States.
If Nigeria is really serious about nation building, references to Religion should be expunged from her constitution and religious politics made a criminal offense.
