NIGERIA FORFEITS FOOTBALL MATCH BECAUSE OF TRIBAL CHARACTER
Nigeria’s 1 – 1 draw with Algeria in Constantine on November 10, 2017 was forfeited to Algeria because Nigeria fielded an ineligible player, Shehu Abdullahi to give the Nigerian team a tribal/federal character.
Nigeria’s coach, Gernot Rohr is too experienced a coach to field an ineligible player. Shehu Abdullahi was fielded by Abuja, fully aware that a forfeiture will not affect Nigeria’s chances of qualifying for the Russia 2018 World Cup Competition. Fielding him made the feudal and tribal irredentists, Islamists, and agents of retrodevelopment happy.
There have been grumblings in Aso Rock that the current team is weighted in favor of one tribe. The complainants should take their protests to God. They should implore God to evenly distribute footballing talents amongst the various 371 Nigerian tribes. Next, they should complain to God about Brazil, Italy, and Germany winning most World Cups. Is it possible that those nations are winning because they shun tribal/federal character football? Brazil, a thoroughly hatist/racist country fields their best black players in every match. If Pele were Nigerian, he will be sitting on the bench.
If Nigeria wants to play tribal/federal character football in Russia, the prudent action will be to forfeit their qualification to Zambia. No nation shall ever be great if it plays tribal/federal character with her development.

We just cannot forfeit a hard won match for the sake of tribal sentiment.
